Description
Built in 1890 , the listed property lies in the heart of the beautiful village. An exceptionally graceful 4 bedroom traditional 400 sq.m building with an inner courtyard and lush garden.
The two storey house is built with the limestone and soil offering coolness in summer and warmth in winter. The house has been in the family for many generations. Its first renovation dates back to 1929 by my grandfather, recently masterfully renovated.
A traditional architecture that retains the house features, traditional mosaic and stone floorings, high wooden ceilings, large openings providing ample light and stunning sea and mountain views.
The ground floor consists of an entrance hall, a lounge room, a double bedroom, a dining area, a TV room and an extra annex/guest bedroom and bathroom that you access from the lush green patio with the sound of water,
a limestone water feature under the shade of a maple tree. Ideal for the morning hours with the sound of swallows .
The first floor consists of two double bedrooms with balconies, a patio, a kitchen, a dining area and a living room with a balcony. Also an idyllic upper terrace offers breathtaking horizon views of the distant mountains and sea.
The house is embraced in art, family heritage antiquities, travel memorabilia, books, world textiles and objects found from auctions around the world. It is a recollection of love and grace that brings a special energy to the house.
A small showcase of Lefkara lacework displayed in the entrance hall embroidered by my grandmother is only a small token of love and respect to her.
The morning sunrise from the terrace is breathtaking don't miss it!
Guests can access the entire property.
We always welcome guests upon arrival and departure ourselves. During the time of your stay we are always available to assist with any information needed. We can prepare a schedule for you with suggested activities and local tips which could make your stay a memorable one.
The house is situated near the main church of the village. Next door there is a small grocery store, Helen the owner is always there to assist you with a smile and a traditional confectionary and coffeeshop for breakfast or lunch. Only 100 metres away is the beautiful Museum of Folk art, embroidery and silversmithing. Nearby plentiful dining options and for the more discerning connoisseurs a visit to the many wineries and traditional local tavernas could be very rewarding.
Depending how you wish to spend your time, a lot of activities and scenery are possible without the need of the car but should you explore further a rental car is advisable. Activities such as biking, trekking, hiking nearby mountains, monasteries visits and folk art museums are there to be discovered.
If you want to bring your pet please let me know in advance to arrange.
